Pope Francis Speaks about the US Immigration Crisis

Pope Francis spoke out about immigration on the occasion of the “Mexico Holy See colloquium on human migration and development”, in which he addressed the immigration crisis involving 57,000 unaccompanied minors that showed up in Texas at the United States border with Mexico.

Pope Francis stated, “Globalization is a phenomenon that challenges us, especially in one of its principal manifestations which is emigration. Despite the large influx of migrants present in all continents and in almost all countries, migration is still seen as an emergency, or as a circumstantial and sporadic fact, while instead it has now become a hallmark of our society and a challenge.” Much like the views of the Pope, US Immigration Bonds has witnessed the troubles that immigrants have even when trying to enter the United States legally, some being wrongfully detained and needing the help of an immigration bail bondman to assuage the issues.

Pope Francis went on to state that immigration is a phenomenon that carries great promise and many challenges. A change of attitude towards migrants and refugees is needed, and that is everyone’s responsibility not just in the U.S., but also around the world. The Pope hopes that everyone can move away from an attitude of defensiveness and fear, indifference and marginalization, all typical of a throw away culture and one in which immigrants are detained and left at the avail of immigration bonds. He hopes that we can move toward an attitude based on a culture of encounter, and build a culture capable of building a better, more just and fraternal world.

The Pope then went on to address the issue of children migrating alone to escape poverty and violence. He stated that is our responsibility to welcome and protect these children. Our responsibility to adopt policies that inform people about the dangers of immigration, and promote development of their countries of origin. The immigration challenge demands the attention of the entire international community, so that new forms of legal and secure immigration may be adopted.

If you or a loved one, especially a child, is being detained by ICE or the Department of Homeland Security and in need of a highly trained and licensed bail bondsman, US Immigration Bonds can help you and/or your family through the immigration bail bonds process with ease and have you released within 24 hours!
