The border wall has been a major topic of debate since President Trump’s initial campaign promises in 2016, and now the President is working to see these promises through by obtaining funding for a border wall to be installed along the US and Mexico border.
Pew Research Center reports that the foreign-born population of the country has reached 43.7 million in 2016.1 The number of US immigrants has tripled since 1970, with immigrants accounting for 13% of the US population.
