President Obama’s Big Immigration Mistake

With the elections underway the Democrats tried to save the Senate but the President’s inability to act on immigration is said to be the reason for the loss. There is evidence of a combination of a low Hispanic turnout and low Hispanic margins for Democrats for the elections. Democrats were given 62% of the Hispanic vote in previous elections, but there is a direct correlation for the President’s refusal to comment on Immigration and a drop in Hispanic voters nationwide.

President Obama commented on Wednesday, Nov. 5^th that at the end of the year he would “improve” the immigration system. This comment has stirred the community including Democrats because the President has been saying he is going to “take executive action” for a while now. Six years have based and no one has made a collaborative effort to fix the immigration crisis that continues to get worse with time.

The New York Times has provided three immigration argument points to help structure the immigration changes the country is asking for:

1. Honor the Law – switch ICE’s focus from the illegals that are here and pose no threat to enforce the removal of violent criminals, terrorist and other public safety threats.
2. Help the Country – The large illegal population undermines the law and cause tax payers’ money to be spent chasing aliens that pose no threats.
3. Cut the Debate – Answer the million dollar question: What do we do with the 11 million aliens that are already living here in the United States?

We can only hope that when President Obama does decide to take action on immigration that he can focus on these three point illustrated by the people. The government’s decision on immigration effects all Americans and our economy. But until he makes a move, we will continue to sit and wait.
