Your Industry Could Benefit from Obama’s Executive Action
The United States has always been a country that doesn’t like following other people’s orders. When American’s feel retrained, we do something about it; and that is exactly how President Obama feels. Despite the division the United States has undergone since President Obama’s executive action announcement on Thursday evening, there are a few things the US can look forward to.
President Obama has proposed the following immigration plan limitations:
- You have to have lived in the US for over 5 years and –
- If you have children that are American citizens or green card residents;
- Can pass a criminal background check;
- Willing to pay your fair share of taxes
You should be allowed to apply to stay in the United States temporarily (for up to 3 years) without fear of deportation. Many look at these terms and immediately think, “No, send them back!” But many Americans can, and will, benefit from Obama’s immigration plan.
Companies such as Yahoo, Intel, and HP has said that support the Obama Administration in moving forward with immigration reform. Company CEOs from Caterpillar, Marriott, McDonald’s, and Wendy’s have pushed for immigration reform because of their dependence of low-skilled laborers in their industries. Statements have been made saying the healthcare, technology, manufacturing, hospitality and tourism industries can all benefit from the executive action.
