Attorney General Nominee Sides with Obama’s Immigration Executive Action

One of the trending topics in immigration news is the employment status of illegal immigrants. Attorney General Nominee Loretta Linch’s current stance on this topic supports President Obama’s immigration executive action. Both President Obama and Linch believe that illegal immigrants should have the right to work in the United States.

An opposing view stated, “Who has more of a right to work, legal residents or illegal immigrants?” This could be a factor in the high unemployment rates, where legal residents are losing job opportunities to those who are in the U.S. illegally.

Linch’s rebuttal was, “I believe that the right and the obligation to work is one that is shared by everyone in this country, regardless of how they came here”.

Republicans believe that allowing illegals to stay and work in the United States is not the answer. The right-winged party is asking for both parties to be impartial on the subject and to do what is “truly right” for the country, rather than what is best for their political party’s rankings for upcoming elections.

President Obama’s immigration executive action proposed granting 5 million illegals work visas, a move which the Republican Party is not happy with. The President believes that our immigration efforts should be shifted from deporting illegals who are seeking asylum and work visas, to dangerous aliens that pose a potential threat on society.
