Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Immigration Bonds

Home » Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Immigration Bonds

One of the many challenges that immigrants face is navigating the world of immigration bonds. For most individuals, little contact with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the division of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) had been made prior to the instance.

US Immigration Bonds & Insurance Services has collected some FAQs about immigration bonds to assist illegal aliens in attaining an ICE immigration bond.

What is an immigration bond?

ICE immigration bonds are necessary when an illegal alien is held by the ICE. They exist as federal surety bonds or monetary agreements that the individual in question will be present at every court hearing.

Immigration bonds allow for the individual to be released until further action is taken within the court.

Where can an immigration bond be posted?

Researching how to pay immigration bonds can yield various results, but there are two basic ways which stand above the rest.

First, if the detainee has the cash amount in full, he or she can pay that directly to the ICE. For example, residents of Dade County in Florida should pay their funds to the Dade County DHS.

If the alien cannot pay the sum in full, he or she can hire an immigration bond agent to post a surety bond with the ICE. In most cases of this, no money is exchanged, rather insurance is used to provide the sum from the bond company to the court. The detainee need only pay the agent a bond premium, an average of 15% in Florida.

US Immigration Bonds offers to help aliens attain ICE immigration bonds with a lower premium of 12% and a $10 filing fee.

What do immigration bonds cost?

Among the challenges that immigrants face is the task of procuring the high sums required to post bond. This price can range from $500-$50,000 depending upon status, criminal history, family, and employment situations.

Rather, when a bond company is hired, the individual only has to pay a percentage of that – much more realistic for anyone trying to figure out how to pay immigration bonds.

If the amount is paid in full, is it refundable?

After the necessary court proceedings, the amount posted will be refunded to the individual. This can take several weeks or several months, and can make the seemingly endless process even longer.

Once again, in hiring a company to post bond for the detainee, the immigration bond process is made much less complicated, and the individual will not have to wait an extended period to receive his or her money back.

Who’s eligible to receive an immigration bond?

Any illegal alien may receive an ICE immigration bond, as long as he or she has not done anything to be in mandatory detention. This would involve a crime which violates the general values of the public or which is drug-related.

US Immigration Bonds can help those looking into ICE immigration bonds with any further questions he or she may have, so that a complex process can be made much simpler.

US immigration bonds were absolutely the best they were super professional. When I was down and out when my husband was detained by immigration they were very caring , knowledgeable, and patient. I called them a thousand times and they were very empathic and helpful everytime I called. they reassures me that everything would be fine, and that they would help me my husband, and my children be reunited again. They did everything they could to get me a same day release. They exceeded my expectations. I would not recommend any company other than US immigration bonds. Us immigration bonds, under promises and over fulfills. They were a true blessing ! Thank you so much again.read more

Jeremy Wolf and his agency have been a terrific resource for me as I delve into this foreign world of bonding a friend out of jail so he and his wife can work on his case on the "outside." Jeremy has been unfailingly polite and informative and his video regarding how to complete the necessary forms was a valuable tool too. The entire process was quick and relatively easy. I especially appreciated not having to deal with a jaded, impatient, figure--it-out-yourself kind of person when I was treading in really unfamiliar territory. My questions were always answered quickly and efficiently.I highly recommend this company in your time of need for quick, efficient and professional service with no attitude or delay.read more

Jeremy Wolf, is compassionate and understanding. He has been there and done it with his own family, and together with his wife they dedicate their time and energy into helping other families come together. I know this because my husband was taken by ICE and his bond was set much higher than I could have imagined, having in my hands at any given time. ... With Jeremy, his wife and the rest of the team we were able to piece together the required 80% and set up a affordable and convient payment plan. It was a grueling process, at times I felt like I was going to loose all my hair, as I ran around selling homemade tamales, and had various other fund raisers going on, along with my husband being detained, I lost my home, my dog and my daughter and I pushed forward with the help and support of Jeremy and his team, if It wasn't for there hours of help and dedication, to put a previous bond for my nephew into action to help my husband, we wouldn't have been able to have him home for the Holidays. ... To Jeremy, Veronica, and Amber, who I spoke with often, and the other parts of the team who I was unable to catch their names, I THANK YOU, FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!read more
