Newest US Immigration Laws
At US Immigration Bonds & Insurance Services, we an immigration bond company that deals with U.S. immigration laws. These laws can constantly change, and these changes can affect the lives of many of the people we work with. We think it is important to stay updated about the newest immigration laws.
New Immigration Laws in the U.S.
If you have been watching the news at all lately, it should come as no surprise that immigration is currently a hot topic of debate, especially in the United States. Because former President Obama and current President Trump have such different views on immigration, their policies on immigration are drastically different as well. Everyone needs to be aware of new immigration laws, but this is especially important for illegal immigrants, noncitizens, and their families.
Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)
Under President Obama, the Deferred Action for Children Arrivals or DACA was passed. It works to prevent deportation of immigrant children who came to the United States at a young age. The children must meet specific requirements to be eligible.
President Trump has worked to end DACA and various court cases have taken place regarding the legality of the program. Trump urged the Supreme Court to take on the case and make a final decision to end the program before 2018 up to prevent the program from running in 2019 1.
Travel Ban
The travel ban you have heard about in the news was originally Executive Order 13769. It was enacted by Trump but has also faced legal battles from various courts around the country. The order bans immigrants from several countries and significantly lowered the number of refugees accepted. Because of the legal battles, the travel ban has faced more changes.
In June 2018, the revised ban was declared constitutional by the Supreme Court, but the debate continues with Justice Sotomayor accusing the other justices of, “ignoring the facts, misconstruing our legal precedent, and turning a blind eye to the pain and suffering the Proclamation inflicts upon countless families and individuals, many of whom are United States citizens.” 2
Of course, there are many more U.S. immigration laws and proposed policies you should be aware of, but these are two that have been prevalent in the news recently. With the Trump administration cracking down on illegal immigrants, it becomes all the more important to be able to answer questions like what is an immigration bond, how to pay an immigration bond, and how to get an immigration bond back. At US Immigration Bonds & Insurance Services, we are an immigration bond company that helps with ICE bail bonds and bond insurance services.
