Anticipating Obama’s Executive Action on Immigration Tonight

Everything regarding immigration for the past few years has built up to this moment. President Obama has confirmed that he will addressing his plan of executive action on immigration. Although the result is not designed to be an ideal decision, there is no broad answer to the immigration problem – but it is mean to make a stride in the right direction.

Obama’s executive action on immigration will shift the focus from deportation of aliens that have deep ties to the country to only serious and/or violent criminals. This will alleviate the fear of deportation for an estimated four to five million illegal residents and potential focus our time, money, and efforts on serious criminals, terrorists, and security threats.

Republican lawmakers are already condemning the executive action on immigration and creating a rebuttal for the ‘unconstitutional’ authority the President is taking. With more than 400,000 immigrants deported last year, President Obama feels that this is the only option left at keeping families together.

President Obama says that he will be addressing the nation Thursday evening about Congress’ continued denial to act on immigration and his executive action options. Deporting ‘Dreamers’ is not the right option for the United States, and a solution needs to be offered to help those trapped by the system’s failure to act.
