New Study: Immigrants Aren’t Taking Jobs from Citizens

It may seem contrary to what most people believe, but a new study discovered that immigrants aren’t taking jobs away from native, U.S. citizens. However, much like the immigration bonds industry; there are some exceptions to that overarching statement.  

For years, the US Immigration Bonds blog has reported on the issues of immigration reform, immigration detention and immigration bonds. The issue of immigration and American jobs is nothing new.  

Articles regarding this long standing immigration myth appeared in both Time Magazine and The New York Times recently. Both publicans point to a recent report that tallied statistical data from the past 20 years: local economic affects, immigration bonds, available jobs and wages; all this data was compiled to look for an overarching pattern to prove if immigrants have an effect on the jobs of U.S. citizens. • There is very little long term effect on the wages and employment of U.S. citizens caused by immigrants.
• Immigrants who have been in the U.S. for a longer period of time are affected by incoming immigrants and they do see lower wages but not fewer jobs.
• People who did not finish high school will see their work hours reduced by incoming immigrants.
• High skilled immigrants who have experience in science and technology have had a positive impact on the American economy.
