Immigration Bail Bonds

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Enforcement Removal Operations officers arrested the 300th foreign fugitive apprehended by the agency since October 2014. This marks the start of fiscal year 2015.

Elmer Francisco Reyes, a 30-year-old Honduran man was the 300th capture for the agency. He was wanted for aggravated sexual assault by Honduran law enforcement who issued a warrant for his arrest in August 2010.

Reyes was released back to Honduran officials in May 2009, and re-entered the U.S. He was re-arrested in Miami Beach, Florida in September 2014 and was issued a reinstated order of deportation. In February 2015, the U.S. District Court in the Southern District of Florida convicted Reyes of illegal re-entry and sentenced him to four months imprisonment and three years supervised release. He was released in April 2015. On July 17th 2015, he was arrested and removed to Honduras on July 31, 2015.

Majority of this fiscal year’s 300 arrests have taken place in California, Florida, and Texas, and the majority are violent criminals who had been convicted of or wanted for crimes. Since October 1, 2009, ERO has removed more than 1,150 foreign fugitives from the United States who were sought in their native countries for serious crimes including kidnapping, rape, and murder. ERO works closely with Homeland Security’s Office of International Operations to identify foreign fugitives illegally present in the United States.

Since the recent murder of Katherine Steinle, who was killed by a convicted illegal alien, ERO officers have made it a priority to keep dangerous criminal immigrants off the streets.
